Bognor 3rds 27 – 26 Littlehampton

11th September 2017

Bognor 3rds  v Littlehampton.

Littlehampton’s first league game after requesting to drop one division to re build the team after a very difficult season last year was narrowly lost due to discipline.

Bognor attacked from the start and where soon awarded a penalty which earned them 3 points. The home side were keeping  the game very tight with the use of their forwards to power themselves over for a try. Not converted.

After 35 minutes Littlehampton managed to push deep into Bognor’s 22 but failed to score. With Littlehampton attacking more rather than defending, Ben Best managed a breakaway  try, with Niall Hogan converting. Half time 8 -7 to Bognor.

Bognor came back with force using their forwards, and where awarded a penalty try. Littlehampton replied with Sam Jackson making ground and crossing the try line, Ben Best Converted. Again Littlehampton discipline cost them dearly with Bogor going for touch, winning their lineout  on the 5 metre  and driving over for a try which was converted. With Littlehampton playing more flowing rugby Ben Best crossed the line which was converted.

Bognor again replied through their forwards with a try not converted.

With very little time left Littlehampton still had the legs left for Ollie to score, but failed to convert Final score 27 -26 to Bognor.

Next week is at home against Sussex Police 3pm KO.
